Meet Therapist Amy Tierney, LCSW
Individual therapy for adults and adolescents navigating relationships, anxiety, depression, grief & loss, trauma, and life transitions.
For over 15 years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals, couples, and families through life's most challenging moments. I've worked with individuals across every stage of life—from the joy of welcoming newborns to the heartbreak of sudden loss and trauma. My work has spanned psychiatric hospitals, trauma and acute care academic medical centers, and private practice settings.
With advanced training in Psychodynamic and Relational Psychotherapy, I help my clients get to the root of the symptoms, struggles, and painful relationship patterns that bring them to therapy. I have a profound respect for the power of a genuine therapeutic relationship, and I'm committed to fostering a space where my clients find the freedom to experience meaningful growth and transformation.
WHO I WORK WITH
Licensed in California, Arizona, and Florida, I provide individual psychotherapy to adults and adolescents navigating a wide range of difficulties and challenges. I work with teenagers, young adults (college age), and adults of all ages. Some issues that bring people to therapy include relationship difficulties, codependency, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, and significant life transitions.
ADDITIONAL SPECIALTY AREAS
I am also one of only a handful of therapists worldwide with specialized expertise in twin dynamics. My practice supports the mental health and emotional well-being of twins, twinless twins (loss through death or estrangement), womb twin survivors (loss of twin in utero), parents of twins and multiple-birth children, and those who love them.
My practice is based in Orange County, California and sessions are conducted online through secure telehealth, allowing me to work with clients across multiple states while offering the convenience and comfort of therapy from your own space.
