What can I expect in the first session?

Accepted Answer

The first session is a time for us to get to know each other.  We'll talk about what's bringing you to therapy, what you're hoping therapy can do for you, and what it might look like to work together.  I also want to give you the opportunity to ask me questions as well.  At the end of the session we can decide whether or not we would be a good fit to work together.

Do you offer in-person or Telehealth sessions?

At this time, I offer Telehealth sessions only.  Sessions are held through a secure, HIPPA-compliant video platform, allowing me to work with clients throughout the states I'm licensed in.

How often will we meet?

I meet with my clients a minimum of once a week for 45-minute sessions.  Research consistently shows that therapy is most effective when sessions occur regularly and consistently.  This allows us to build momentum and establish continuity throughout the therapeutic process.

How long is each session?

Sessions are 45 minutes in length.

What are your fees?

The fee for a 45-minute individual therapy session is $225.  The fee for a 60-minute couples therapy session is $300.

I offer a limited number of reduced-fee appointments based on financial need and availability.  If you’re interested in discussing a sliding scale fee, please reach out and we can explore what may be possible.

What therapy approaches and methods do you use?

I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches and techniques based on each client’s individual needs.  My primary approaches include Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Relational Psychotherapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).While these approaches provide valuable tools for understanding and creating meaningful change, I believe the most important part of therapy is the therapeutic relationship itself. Feeling understood, supported, and safe with your therapist creates the foundation for meaningful exploration, growth, and lasting change.

There's no set timeline—it's different for everyone. Some clients work with me for a few months to address something specific, while others stay longer for ongoing support, growth, and self-exploration.A wise mentor once told me that his clients know when they need to come in, and they know when they're ready to leave. That's how I see it too. This is your process, and we'll move at whatever pace feels right for you.
