Therapy for Anxiety
The Origins of Anxiety
The word anxiety is derived from the Greek word ankhos, which means “to choke” or “to constrict.” Anxiety can feel exactly like that—tightening, overwhelming, and all-consuming. It can keep us from feeling free, connected, and fully alive. Many of my patients seek therapy for anxiety when worry, fear, or tension begin to interfere with their daily life, their relationships, and pursuing their dreams.

Whether you’ve lived with anxiety for years or are feeling it for the first time, anxiety therapy offers a space to slow down, breathe, and make sense of what’s happening inside. In our work together, you’ll have the chance to explore not just the symptoms of anxiety, but the experiences, relationships, and patterns that may have shaped it.
Beyond Symptom Relief
There are many effective treatments for anxiety, including cognitive and behavioral approaches that are very effective at easing symptoms. The psychodynamic and relational therapy I offer takes this work a step further. Rather than simply managing the symptom or placing a bandage over it, we’ll explore the relational origin of your anxiety—how it developed, what purpose it may have served, where it's showing up in your life today, and how it may be preventing you from living a full, unconstricted life.
Take the First Step
Reaching out for support is a brave and courageous step. If anxiety has been holding you back or keeping you feeling constricted, I invite you to connect. Together, we can explore what’s underneath the anxiety and help you move toward a life that feels calmer, freer, and more fully your own. It would be an honor to support you on your journey.
